Russian hardware manufacturer iRU and domestic software developer RED SOFT have conducted a series of tests to create import-independent solutions. As a result, the ability of iRU hardware products to function under the RED OS operating system has been confirmed.
The testing of RED OS was carried out on iRU Agat monoblock, iRU Onyx 1307 and 1407 tablets, iRU Opal and Opal B560 system units, iRU Onyx 15Y and 1505 laptops. Integrated hardware and software solutions are suitable for use in public authorities and state corporations for the purpose of import substitution.
The iRU equipment is easily integrated into the corporate infrastructure. Due to a variety of configurations, it can be used at CII facilities to address standard office and specialized tasks. For instance, the system unit iRU "Opal" is based on the domestic Baikal-M processor and is compatible with Russian data protection tools and trusted boot modules. The device supports multiple displays, has a tamper detector, comes in two form factors - Slim Desktop and Mini Tower. Now, among the advantages of these devices is integration with the RED OS operating system, which has a developed and flexible "ecosystem".
RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations, which provides a universal environment for the use of applied software. The product is certified by FSTEC of Russia (No. 4060 dated January 12, 2019), which confirms its compliance with information security requirements and allows its use in government information systems. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases (No. 3751).
"Cooperation and coordinated efforts of Russian developers will accelerate the compliance with information technology import substitution requirements in the country. Now the market offers a wide range of domestic hardware and software, from which together with our partners we create hardware and software solutions and ready-to-use workplaces. I am sure that integration of iRU and RED SOFT products will also be in demand among customers", Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, says.
"We continue to actively expand our portfolio of import-independent products that in the current environment are in high demand on the market, especially by government institutions and organizations - those for which the domestic origin of hardware and its compatibility with Russian software products are critically important, says Denis Antsiferov, Technical Director of iRU. - We have been working with RED SOFT since 2020, and during this time the demand for solutions has been constantly growing, so it was a logical step to expand the range of certified iRU devices running under RED OS".
