Russian software developer RED SOFT and the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Dagestan signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement is aimed to promote Russian software in the region and support governmental bodies in shifting to import-independent software.
Within the framework of the agreement RED SOFT will provide educational institutions of the republic with licenses for the RED OS operating system. Schoolchildren and teachers will use the product for educational purposes.
Implementation of Russian software in educational institutions is an important component of the import substitution program in the region.
"RED OS has a well-developed ecosystem that can cover the needs of educational organizations. Our operating system is compatible with the application software necessary for the educational process, and it is also quite flexible and easy to use. Our task is to show that domestic software can become familiar and understandable even to children", - Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, said.
"The Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Dagestan has been cooperating with RED SOFT on import substitution since 2019. The implementation of the RED OS in schools will not only replace foreign software with domestic ones in educational institutions, but also increase their information security", - Yuri Gamzatov, Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Dagestan, commented.
